Making the decision to move, close a business and leave family and friends was tough to say the least! It was time for the big "R". After more than twenty years with a storefront I was ready to slow down and focus more on what I really loved doing-teaching and designing patterns.
This first year went by in a flurry. We managed to close the storefront (pack, sell and move everything), sell our home, move 24 years of household stuff, buy a new home and totally remodel it-all accomplished in six months!
We have been busy traveling, but not exactly the fun adventurous kind. Just making the move took more trips between Texas and Arkansas than I care to count. (Ever notice how the kids are either gone, busy or just not available when we needed to move!) Throw in a few more trips to meet the grandkids (half way point) and bring them up for a visit, plus two trips to see our son and daughter-in-law at Fort Bragg and you can see we have been on the road a lot!
In between the traveling I have been working on the web site and a few new designs. The office is set up with a small area for weaving and teaching a few students. Files are organized (sort of-Monica's style) and I have been learning how to use my Mac!
It has been a crazy, busy year. Now we are ready to settle into some kind of a routine with a few fun trips.I miss all my students, weaving buddies and friends. Be sure to come back often to see what's "Weaving in our World".
Keep Weaving
Monica
